You get what you pay for and looks are deceiving. Upon pulling up to the hotel I automatically became uneasy about the property. The entry to the rooms on the main building is exterior which is a safety concern when staying alone with children as a female however we were offered rooms in the other building that was interior entrance. The rooms were not up to standard. We were shown several rooms many to which had mold growing especially in the bathroom, cobwebs hanging down and overall not clean. The staff was very friendly and tried their best to accommodate us however as a female traveling alone with a child I didn’t feel comfortable or safe and could not stay there.

The building has been left to practically crumble, the concrete stairs going to the second floor cracked and uneven, the pillars outside have huge rust holes at the base, the basketball hoop hanging sideways, the pool clearly closed because they don't bother to clean or maintain it. House cleaning never bothered to clean our room and I found a roach in the bathroom. We checked out a day early after that. The only good things I can say are that the front desk attendant was very sweet, the beds were comfortable and the ac worked well and was relatively quiet, if only they cared enough to keep up with cleaning and maintenance.

The room was not clean. I found an old bottle cap and old wrapper. The bed was not comfortable, the pillows were comically small, there was a crack in the door (the side with the handle) to where we could see the lights outside, and the blinds were not secure. The TV didn’t turn off in our room. The door also didn’t lock well. I have nothing bad to say about the staff and the breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast, not bad at all.

This property is very old. The carpet was torn and frayed. Tiles in the bathroom were loose. Mirrors were filthy with trim falling off. Some light fixtures did not work. Lampshades barely holding together. Refrigerator did not work properly, the freezer portion not at all. Towels and sheets stained. Shower curtain torn. Termites and ants in the room. Outside door handle was not functioning well and was about to fall off. The lobby had no AC on a 90 degree day. I felt terrible for the very helpful clerk. The ceiling in the lobby over the food area was peeling and looked about to cave in. The clerk at check-in was very helpful and courteous. She is the only keeper in this hotel!

The only problem was that my room had a strong smoke odor each time I entered. The morning staff and breakfast made the hotel look good. I also put on my room details top floor they put me in a bottom handicap room. The lady in the morning was nice and friendly.
