"The property was cold and the device to set the temperature seemed to be out of battery. It was somewhat hard to find, and when we entered there was a vacuum cleaner sitting in the hallway. Parking can be hard to find, and the owners' emails seemed to be automatic and not responsive."

The only negative was that we hadn’t realised that bathroom would be downstairs, which resulted in the kids being a bit anxious about going on their own, as it’s a shared house and they weren’t comfortable wandering around the house on their own with strangers. Not a problem for the adults, but the kids weren’t comfortable. "

The hours is very large, with a large kitchen and all amenities. We did not use the TV, so unsure of that function and options. It was nice to have 2 full bathrooms. "We have stayed here a few times since it opened. To come to the spa is very much part of the break. The pools are lovely. Having paid for a junior suite we were then told it was £40pp for spa entry. What % of customers do not go to the spa. Really it is an increase in the room rate under a different guise and feels rather underhand. The breakfast also lacked some of the finesse of previous visits. The croissants and pastries seemed tough and probably cooked well before breakfast. The French toast was served on a piece of thin sliced bread. Not a fluffy plump piece of bread and had consequently burnt edges and generally not French toast. My husbands kippers were minute with a chunk of lemon on the side. Previously the lemon was in a linen cloth tied with a bow so pips were contained. It is the little touches that had all been cut back on, yet these tiny details are what made the crescent special and stood out from the crowd. I think Champagne's you are letting The Crescent down, which is such a shame. We have always recommended a stay now hesitant to do so."
