"Kind of a unique layout and area. Probably the nicest view around. Didn't care for the short drive into it (kind of run down subdivision with too many speed bumps) and there is nothing walking distance. The staff that greeted us was excellent and the lobby/common area was well above the standard for comfort and usability. Breakfast...the usual. Rooms were a bit on the small side but quite cozy and functional and updated. I think the exterior could do with a little landscaping and upkeep. I was surprised the guests were all put into adjacent rooms when the motel was only about a third full (the doors close with a thud). Overall, great value and a good choice for a quick overnight in the area for solo or couples."

"What a gem! This vintage hotel is well cared for and felt modern, while it is filled with antiques and memorabilia. It is clean and the amenities are well-thought-out. The food at the restaurant was fabulous as was the service. And the outdoor patio dining with live music at a volume that you could still carry on a conversation was thoroughly enjoyable. The family, owners and caretakers at this hotel, were the kindest, most generous people I’ve ever met. We truly enjoyed spending time with them. We were able to explore Mount Hood and the surrounding orchards and vineyards. The surrounding areas, including the Columbia Gorge, are stunning making a road tour in the area an absolute must. We were there during moderate outdoor temperatures and the rooms were perfect, but I do suspect that during the winter it could be a little chilly, as it does have the original windows. This would not deter me from staying there. I understand they have special decorations for the holidays and we are already looking at dates to go back. Highly recommend this place."
