"We had a really good stay at Weligama Bay Marriott. Our stay really raised the bar for our future hotel experiences. The ocean view from the room was breathtaking, and there was very easy beach access for swimming and surfing. The hotel staff was really good and helpful as well, including the front desk staff, our concierge Nuwani, Kids Club supervisors Rashmi and Wishmi, as well as all the staff at the Weligama Kitchen whose names we couldn't catch. Weligama Kitchen - The breakfast buffet included a variety of cuisine, everything was fresh and delicious compared to many places we have been in and beyond Sri Lanka. Everything was clean, and the service was impeccable. Kids Club - Staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the space was well managed and very clean. The activities for the kids were age appropriate, and there was a variety of activities and a good selection of toys to keep the kids happy and occupied. Pools - Well maintained and clean, we had no reservations about taking our kids there and having a good time. Related amenities like showers, public bathrooms, towel service were all very reliable. Overall, a great place for families with little kids. Would certainly visit again. Thanks to everyone at the Marriott who helped make our stay a memorable one."

"Once of the best stays while on vacation in Sri Lanka. Clean rooms, conveniently located and friendly staff. The food was amazing as well. They took good care of us from day one. I left my iPods in my room and didn’t even realize it until they called me after we checked out and left to let me know. They went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. "Great location and hotel design but terrible terrible terrible customer service because the hotel management is sorely lacking any systems to ensure a good stay. There are so many issues here - the staff don’t seem to care, drink and food orders never arrive, despite repeated requests and even the offers of free food from management to address the issues experienced didn’t arrive. Many customers are experiencing the same issues. Definitely not worth the cost, stay elsewhere! "

"We stayed in sugar hostel for two nights and it was a lovely experience although it started out a little rocky. When we first entered there was a little confusion with the booking. Even though the booking details were clear on our end on they had not received our booking. The staff were really kind and friendly and they handled the situation well and we were so happy about it. Overall we had a pleasant stay. Would definitely visit again and we are keen on visiting any other properties that they own in other parts of the country. "
