"Great location, however the idea of being awoken earlier than anticipated by faulty air conditioning. This triggered the in room gas leak detection alarm, which the on site staff responded to quickly by turning the air conditioning unit off. Silenced the alarm, but turned a/c off, and we were the up w hours earlier than anticipated for early departure, which was the reason for staying close by. Appreciate these things happen and grateful for alarm, however presume ac had not been serviced."

"We particularly enjoyed the thermal baths and sauna facilities. However, access was limited to a few morning and evening hours unless guests paid an additional £70 per person, which was disappointing for a hotel of this category and price point. The restaurant and bar areas felt rather uninviting and never encouraged us to dine or spend time there. More significantly, we found the staff to be noticeably unfriendly and unwelcoming throughout our stay. This stood in stark contrast to the warm and gracious hospitality we experienced elsewhere during our two-week visit to the UK. The beds were comfortable, although the Executive Room we initially received had a surprisingly small bed for an upgraded category, and we requested a room change. Some amenities also appeared quite worn, including bathrobes with large tears. Guests should be aware that some rooms have accessible bathrooms. While these may be suitable for guests requiring those features, we found the layout uncomfortable and it was impossible to use the shower without soaking much of the bathroom floor. Overall, while the property has attractive facilities, the lack of welcoming service and several disappointing details made it difficult to feel that the experience justified the premium price."

"The room we booked was spot on until the water failed in the bathroom, there was no water at all after a hour going back and forth talking to reception and staff they said they had found another room two floors up and we could use it's bathroom and keep our room, after some more discussion we said we would move to that room as going back and forth for the bathroom was not practical. When we got to the room it was very poor dust everywhere TV remote taped together and a TV that kept freezing never did get it to work, just one chair to sit on and it looked like it had been thrown out by a charity shop, the bathroom was not suitable as we need a walk in shower, due to the delay in moving us and sorting out our problems it was now to late for us to go out and we still could not get washed, we cancelled our plans for the night. I went back to reception and asked if this was the best and only room available in the hotel and was told that's all we have got, I at this point lost the will to live, I just collected the key cards for the room and handed back the temporary one they had given me. In the morning the manger offered me a discount on another stay or a small refund, what a joke tha staff at night did not have a clue about what they should do or could do without a manager approval. I would never stay there again even if you paid me."

"Beautiful hotel with lovely grounds and an excellent spa area. The room was comfortable and fortunately the weather wasn't too warm, as the air conditioning wasn't working during our stay. There was also a persistent clicking noise from the air vent system near the room entrance, which was quite annoying, especially at night. Aside from those issues, we had a very pleasant stay and found the hotel to be well maintained and relaxing."

"Staff friendly and helpful on Check in , the rooms and bathrooms definitely need updating which didn’t include breakfast so was quite steep for one night . No air con so it was really hot in the rooms . It was a good location , no complaints there but I think the room fee was too much considering how much they need modernising ."
