The James Hotel Rotterdam

"Absolutely loved this hotel. We stayed in a Junior Suite which my 9 year old nephew described as a luxury penthouse suite. I have very high expectations when it comes to cleanliness and this Suite was immaculate. The Suite had everything you could need. I have stayed in many hotels for business and pleasure and this was definitely one of the best. I had what I thought was a problem with the bath, rang down to reception and the colleague came up to my room immediately and sorted it out. My only complaint is that my Eurostar was cancelled and I could not book a 2nd night here because the Suites were all booked. Would not stay anywhere else when visiting Rotterdam."

"Very clean and well laid out room. Very comfortable bed. Appreciated the kitchenette although the hob would not turn on when frying pan was on it. Only when large pot was. Staff were professional, pleasant and helpful. Easy check out. Would stay here again."

"PROs: Locations/Modern/Near Metro/Clean/Everything working/option for brekkie but expensive/Shower toiletries included and liquid soap for sink. CONS: Bike rental reasonable but was not smooth process to exit hotel, bikes only one size and had a smaller adult who just about found a lone bike small enough then bike bits could be better maintained - one couldn't unlock and other seat loose. But we made it work. We had been left to collect and work out by ourselves and after requesting assistance for the second time the guy gave very basic helpful information which was not obvious to us -we should have been escorted to the bikes and made sure they were in working order and suitable for our heights. During unprecedented recent heatwave hotel did not provide complementary water in the rooms nor corridor, so we requested at the bar which barman was fine with but when on another day we did, non bar staff frowned upon us filling a water bottle.. - do better. Bathroom hooks in the wrong place and items would get wet as in shower! Would appreciate a magnifying mirror other hotels have on moveable arm. No local shops/cafes nearby but we are used to travelling for food , so did so for breakfast. No option to opt out of replacement towels or cleaning to each day to help the environment. We would recommend and stay again."

"Restaurant very nice. A destination restaurant not just a hotel lobby restaurant. Decent spa and indoor pool. Nice spread for breakfast - expected pricing for the country. Room cleaning staff did not change sheets regularly / refill soap until we spoke with manager. Everything was sorted out after that. Very pleased with the hotel and would happily return."

"Location is convenient, staff are helpful/friendly, breakfast was convenient and good. Clean, comfortable, safe, and welcoming. Ana at the front desk was very patient, professional, and friendly in providing us directions to our destinations. Great choice!"
