"The kitchen had nothing in it to use or clean with. The sink and frig were great however. I wanted the manager to know that Room 121 appeared to have a major leak into the wall behind the bath sink as the drywall behind it was wet after using the bath sink. There was not a staff person at the front at checkout so we could not report it. We had a very large palmetto roach in the bath. There were plenty around and I imagine a usual issue in Texas. The hotel was overall very comfortable and clean. Easy parking. It is an accessible distance to Round Top Market. "
"Staff was excellent and good was better than expected! The room was horrible, mildew, musty, shower curtain didn’t meet the tub, water went everywhere. But the staff makes up for a terrible room. "
"It was like staying in a college apartment from 1990. I suspect that this property does not have enough steady customers to properly invest in the property. Instead, they do what they can to maintain it.
Pros: Giant room suitable for a small apartment, Clean bathroom where the shower/tub area looked remodeled. Comfortable enough bed. Large TV. (Kitchenette, if you want it. However, they had a full-size stove/oven and refrigerator. That blocks off large parts of the kitchen.)
Cons: The lack of hot water. It was not like they were out. Rather, it was set so low that it was slightly above room temperature. It made it difficult to get soap off of hair/skin.
Old, outdated laminate floor that was no longer stuck to the concrete. A very old/stained couch. A plethora of furniture that seemed like parental hand-me-downs from the 1980’s. The smoke detector that needs its battery replaced. The visible bait traps. The necessary security lights for the parking lot being so bright that even with the curtains drawn, light is easily visible. A sparse breakfast options, even for a continental breakfast. The broken juice dispenser.
"
"The breakfast menu was plentiful, fresh, and delicious. They had a great coffee station. Hector at the front desk was an incredibly friendly person, and very attentive."
