"The room is advertised as having continental breakfast included. When we checked in, the lobby was closed and we had to check in through almost a teller window. At this time, we were informed they no longer did breakfast and it was suppose to be removed from their listings (pictures still showed breakfast too). When we checked in, the towels were still being washed; however we were brought warm towels as soon as they were done.
Our kids feet turned black/gray from running around the room barefoot within an hour. There was a spot between the bed and nightstand that looked like something was spilled and not mopped. The beds were clean and made. There was a spot on the ceiling in the bathroom where the paint was peeling up. Although the room was remodeled, I feel like it was almost like putting make up on a pig.
The room was quiet and the guests appeared spaced out to not bother eachother.
The overall price wasn’t bad since we used points; however, I probably won’t be returning next time."
"The place was nice. The staff was very awesome and helpful. The young man at the front desk check-in KUDOS to you! The rooms was good, but needs some updating. No issues and highly recommend this hotel. They take pets and have an area for them."
"Free Parking is actually street parking, although there were adequate spots it was not something provided by the hotel. Got into our room and first thing my wife said was the a/c unit was extremely noisy that would make it hard to sleep. I spoke to the hotel representative (only one on site) and she put us in another room and the a/c unit in that one was fine. Several booking sites, including Hotel DeFuniak's own webpage indicates there is a free breakfast with the room. In fairness the hotel website calls it a Continental Breakfast, but there was none of that or any food for that matter. In fact, when we were in the lobby area there was no one from the hotel even around and the bar/restaurant areas were locked. Also, it would have been nice to have a page or two in the room explaining the hotel amenities, how to work the tv controls (there were two and you had to use both to get the tv to work), breakfast, etc.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel. It is quaint, but not a good value overall."
