Whangamomona is a small town on the Forgotten World Highway in New Zealand...as the name suggests, the highway - in the north island - is not visited very often, which is part of it's charm. Whangamomona Hotel. The town declared itself a republic in 1989. We were able to get our passports stamped here (for a small donation).
