"Lovely hotel with a lot of history which was displayed around various walls at reception, If you don’t mind walking up various sets of stairs to get to your room (we were on level 1) you’ll be fine. There weren’t a lot of stairs but it was “walk up a couple then down a corridor, through a door and few more steps, another corridor and other door”. The floors creaked also but it was an old building so can’t complain. Free on site parking but be aware, pigeons live in the roof of the parking area and graced us with a present! We were able to walk to all the sites we wanted to visit so it was really hardly in that respect. No meals available on site but there is a bar on site."

"Nice refurbished room on the 1st floor that had the benefit of air con and an opening window. Staff were really helpful on check-in as were those in the bar area. Didn't eat there but enjoyed sitting out in the courtyard area and meeting the hotel cat Queenie 😁"

"Great location - 10 min walk along river into Llangollen - superb town. Hotel grounds lovely, good facilities, breakfast good-ish. Room in the modern extension (20 years ago) was upgraded at small-ish cost via auction. Comfortable but creaky bed. No a/c and as bedroom was at front and weather warm, was a bit of noise...England at World Cup on TV for one of the nights! Overall, best looking hotel in town based on our search and very easy parking. Spa looked great, but didn't use."
