Smart Extended Stay
"This facility was hard to find. The sign from the road was Smart Extended Stay - or something like that, but in front of the building are a bunch of U-hauls available for rent, so you can't really see the faciltity from the road. Don't go down the road to the back - the office is in the front building. Park in the front. The front desk person was very nice. Check in and out was easy. The room was fine, nothing to complain about. The room must have originally been 2 double beds (or queens) because there were 2 headboards attached to the wall. The only reason why I mention it is that the bedside lights and outlets were configured to be between the 2 beds. Since we had a King bed, the bedside lights and outlets were only available on one side of the bed. Not a bid deal unless you like to check your phone for the time during the night. There are a lot of restaurants in the area - a little hard for walking since the road it's on is busy. But all within a 10 minute drive. Pasquale's, an Italian restauant was very good and reasonably priced. Tamarack Maarketplace is in Beckley and is always a nice stop for about 30 minutes to check out the latest local artisan merchandise. They also have a small restauant there which is a good lunch spot. They're open until 7 pm. The New River Gorge is also nearby if you'd like a hike or just to check out the bridge. We missed Bridge Day by 2 days - It's a one-day festival on the 3rd Saturday of Oct. Lots of booths and parachuting off the bridge."
