"We were told when we went to check in that the private owners of the 2 rooms we booked should have emailed us a code for a lock box so we could retrieve a key to get into the rooms. They hadn’t even told us what rooms were allocated let alone a code.
The hotel staff rang the owners for us and we were given the codes for each room. One eventually worked but the other didn’t. When we rang the owners again we were given another code which also did not work.
Finally they said look for the key under the mat at the front door. It was there.
Very poor communication by the owners and would never use them again.
Thank goodness the hotel bar staff were able to help us."
"The dining and the bar were good and the staff were helpful although one of the male serving staff was wearing a baseball cup which we didn’t think look good.
We felt the courtyard brick paving was really uneven and dangerous.
We felt the shower over the bath is a dangerous situation and my guest did slip on the bath and bang her head against the edge of the bath, causing a split above the eyebrow with much bleeding. Resulting in visits to both the York and Northam hospitals which resulted in eight hours of waiting around for treatment and getting
attended to.
Ambiance was very pleasant and the room smelled very clean."
"The only issue was the bed which was on wheels and kept moving with each movement. It was a nightmare until I had to use one of the chairs to wedge it against the wall and from further movement!!!"
"A convenient place to stay in York within easy walking distance to the main part of town including dinner options. Microwave, crockery and cutlery was a bonus but missing a tea towel and to dry dishes after washing up. Check in was efficient over the phone. "
"Staff were great, room was good but we stayed on s Friday night and the noise was too much, couldnt sleep, hoons around the rooms and loud music and people"
