"Best hotel we stayed at on our trip. Would 100 percent recommend to anyone and will be looking for Wingate on future trips"

"This hotel is in such poor condition! The amenities weren't working. Both the pool and the elevator were out of service. Our bedding had cigarette holes, and the hallway carpets were soiled filthy. And we even saw a roach in our room."

"Employee at check-in was super friendly. Quick check-in, too. Only one elevator. Room was ok. The beds were soooo small. Not really queen size at all, more like doubles. Carpet in room looked dirty simply because of the color, and it was actually dirty based on the bottoms of our socks. Mini fridge wasn’t even plugged in when we got there. Bathroom was big, towels were decent too. Breakfast room was crowded with truckers at 6:15- only annoying because Expedia touted this as a family hotel, but it clearly is not. We only grabbed muffins and juice to go. Woman at desk upon checkout was not friendly. "

"My room I was even wasn’t cleaned yet. But they quickly give me a new room which was very nice and clean. Stuff was helpful. "

"Positives: -Beautiful decor in lobby. -Clean room. -Good AC/heat temperature control in room. Negatives: -Problem with shower temperature control (only scalding hot or no water at all - seemed to be no cold water available). -Lackluster pool and gym. -Lackluster breakfast, really not worth it. "

"I lived in the south for 25 years and I’ve been up in Ohio and Michigan for the six years. I stated this hotel and it’s been pretty consistent with good people amenities. But I want to say the choice hotels and Comfort Inn need to open the pool earlier than Memorial Day. The reason is as of April 1 it starts getting hot in North Carolina. I lived there for 25 years and it’s always questionable between the months of March and April. I understand not opening the pool up north any earlier with your hotels. But in North Carolina and South Carolina I would ask that you would consider opening a pool April 1. Even if you don’t think it’s that warm even at 70° kids want to swim. It’s a hell of a lot warmer than the ocean in Wilmington, which I came back from to stay at this hotel. I understand that’s the official summertime. But please consider opening the polls or earlier in the south."

"The room was decent but Everytime you leave out the room it’s always a smell in the hall, don’t have enough breakfast items. Staff was very nice!"
