"When checking in the staff didn't put any effort into explaining anything about the hotel or access to my room. They were to busy talking about drinking and plans later in the week. Room had 2 beds and the bunk bed which was nice. The door to access the beach from our room was broke and we couldn't ever get it locked correctly. We were just told don't use the door and no we couldn't change rooms. With new management and checking in people this place would be great."

"I did/do like this place but when we got to the room we had to call maintenance to come repair the floor.took them forever to do. Metal was sticking up from the carpet to the other flooring. The carpet had so much sand in it which I understand can’t be helped at the beach. It was pretty gross seeing all that sand from other ppl. Then we ordered from the restaurant and 2 grouper baskets meals almost 70 bucks and the crust was black “old cooking oil”and the fish inside had all dried up. Horrible! But its said and done now. Not sure if I will go back there. One, it’s wicked expensive and it just wasn’t the same as the times before. the staff were great!!!"

"I booked a hotel on the beach and when I arrived, it was awful, so I had to cancel. I was in a bind. Everything was booked up. It was the weekend, but I found IHG. The price was very reasonable and it was only 5 minutes from the beach. The staff was so friendly and the room was spotless. They had 24 hour coffee downstairs, which is so much better than having the crappy one in your room. Breakfast was OK. It could be better for sure."

"Overall we were very happy with our stay. Everything worked and there is plenty of space. Our room was comfortable but the decor is a bit dated and faded. The view of the gulf from the balcony was the highlight for me. Sitting there in the morning drinking my coffee as the beach comes to life is what I liked the most. There were basic dishes and appliances in the room and a Publix grocery store is 5 minutes away so cooking a meal is no problem. The beach is right there but I would recommend going down the road to St Andrews State Park if you want to spend the whole day by the water. Go to the jetties swim area. The water there is calm and clear. The marina is close so there are all kinds of day trip excursions on the water to choose from. There is a small game room with a couple of pool tables and video games in the lobby. There are two swimming pools that are identical and pretty nice but fairly small. There is also a wading pool for toddlers and a hot tub. The swimming pools got a bit rowdy at times so I wouldn't recommend staying near the ground floor if you like going to bed early. My main complaint would be that there is only one elevator in each of the 3 buildings. It wasn't a big deal but sometimes you are left standing there for a while waiting."

"Everyone knows about the elevators ! So I won’t complain much about them , But I would say some of the staff was a bit rude , I blew it off most the time but I wish they wouldn’t have the attitudes they had . We had a really good bartender Jameson ! He was fast & got us in & out ! The staff at the Alabama ice Cream shop were also Great ! Got us in & out as well , super friendly! Definitely recommend coming to Laketown Wharf"
