"This property is a lovely small cottage in Volcano. Suitable for individuals or couples it is small but features a full kitchen, has some breakfast items stocked by the owner, and was very comfortable. The owner was very gracious and it was great to meet him in his nearby artist store. Volcano is a small village only a couple miles from the national park so it was perfect for rapidly getting in and out of the park and is centrally located on the southern coast of Hawaii for day trips all over that area. Hilo is about 30 mins drive away for access to all of the shopping and activities offered there. Overall a wonderfull stay, can't wait to come back."
"Amazing and enjoyable in every respect. Location great if you are visiting the Park, especially to be able to return at night to view the volcano.
Spacious rooms, common areas, and the restaurant was great for included breakfast and evening meals."
"We enjoyed our stay here at Hawaii Island Resort, it was pretty remote but between volcanos park and the airport so we picked this location. The hosts showed us how to look for and crack macadamia nuts but we only each found one edible one but it was fun trying! Beautiful property. There are a lot of amenities in the main house that we didn’t use but I’d imagine would be amazing to have a few friends staying at the property too it would be a very fun chill space to hang out in. The bed was comfortable and the room was minimal, we slept with the windows letting in all the night sounds (no A/C but breeze was cool enough at night and there was a fan that was good enough). The experience gave us a more true Hawaii experience than a hotel would have. This place is more like an Airbnb than a hotel. It’s cool that it is listed on Expedia.
Not sure if there are restaurants nearby but we did catch a farmers market on our way in in the closest town which had a lot of good prepared foods."
