"I stayed at the Microtel pretty much on a whim during a trip from Baltimore to Florida. Walterboro seemed like an attainable stop and the Microtel appeared to fill my needs.
My (single Queen bed) room was a little on the small side, but it wasn't much more than a crash pad for me, so that didn't matter much. It was clean and comfortable, and appeared to have been recently updated.
The person who checked me in was pleasant, if a little bit nervous because she was new to the job, but she had support from someone nearby, which was good because there was a minor snafu with the payment (MY fault--I'd forgotten to bring the card I used to secure the room, and needed to use a different form of payment). Another person was also nearby who might have been off-duty, but he helped her with the check-in spiel. They were all also knowledgeable about the area (you'd be amazed how often this is NOT the case) and were able to give clear directions to the place I needed to get to.
I had a minor problem with the power ports in the desk, but was able to work around that so it wasn't a dealbreaker for me. Thanks for a pleasant stay!"
