"Really accommodating host.
We needed an early check in and this was sorted for us no problem.
Clean room. Comfy bed. Good shower.
Although no-one manned the reception, the host was easy to get hold of and made the stay easy as pie.
Thank you very much"

"A nice quite pub, tucked away in the countryside offering a relaxed evening meal and drink after a hard days work. Rooms were clean, warm and comfortable."

"Beautiful old building dated 1642 but tastefully restored inside. Lovely rooms, delicious food. Richard is a great host. Will definitely return when we come back to the area."

"20/06/26
We stayed one night now wish we did 2 nights. Room spotless we'll decorated bathroom 10/10 staff helpful & polite on site parking breakfast room grand and food lovely definitely stay there again
Thank you to all."
"PROS: Lovely staff and very good food. Stable block room was clean. Bed very comfortable and all linens excellent. Hot water plentiful. Iron and board was a bonus. Quick response to noise disturbance from cretin in next room. Otherwise is quiet. Free parking. Easy walking distance to town centre.
CONS: Room was very tired with elderly furniture. Wifi not good. Frequent buffering and kept going off. No mirror for drying hair near socket. No phone in room, which would have been helpful when dealing with said cretin. There was a card showing a number for reception but didn't see it in the dark. Got a useless bot when I rang the main number.
Despite the above, we would stay again."
"We received a warm welcome when we arrived. All the staff we met were friendly. The breakfast was very good. We were pre-warned about the closure of the spa - not that we were going to have any time to use it. It was a good place to stay so we could attend a family wedding at Mapperton House. Plenty of room for parking."
"Lovely place but we had a noisy bathroom fan that was on permanently including all night.
Not allowed to take drinks outside without a plastic glass and the good beer had run out anyway so had to have cider or their Witches Piddle brew."
"We booked the comfort double room ensuite, it was ok, but it was not spacious. The shower was a corner one, I’m only 5’4” and slim and felt it was ‘cosy’, not easy to turn around in, from photos I was expecting a walk-in shower. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, the staff were helpful.
The hotel is in a quiet area, we needed a good sleep after a long day.
As I don’t eat spicy food we went along the road to an Italian restaurant which was recommended and very good. There’s also a pub nearby which serves food."
