Baymont by Wyndham Jamestown Conference Center & Water Park
8/10 Good
"The restaurant, Tapps, is excellent. Might be the best restaurant in Jamestown. Breakfast was reasonable, except they ran out of yogourt and it took 2 days to get more. Hot tub also closed during our stay, we were there for 5 nights.
Hotel is getting a little run down.
Our biggest issue were the children running, screaming or crying outside our door from the families of staff who are living at the hotel full time.
Lastly our kitchenette was extremely limited, 3 spoons, no knives or forks (needed to ask for some), 6 pot lids with no pots, no large bowls."
"Check-in Friday afternoon was quick and painless. However, we were notified right away that the pool would be unavailable for our stay (cue disappointed kids) and that there was some construction going on.
What wasn't explained was that the construction would be on every floor, blocking access to stair wells, commencing early every morning (including Sunday) and it would be loud, dusty, and intrusive. We came out of our room at one point to a person ripping wallpaper off the wall right next to our door. When we left on Sunday, we had to roll our suitcases over a tarp covered in dust from ceiling plaster removal - it was a total mess.
Totally understand that hotels need a refresh - but this really should be done on a floor by floor basis and you shouldn't book guests on that floor while it's being done.
Breakfast was solid as usual for a Holiday Inn Express - we purely stay for the rolls.
Next time, there should be a heads up email letting you know what the status of the hotel is so that you can decide whether or not you want to stay in an active construction zone."

Holiday rentals feature amenities such as WiFi and washers and dryers so you'll be comfy for your stay. If you're concerned about a sanitised environment, a holiday rental can offer a sense of security away from public hotel lifts and busy reception areas while still allowing you the excitement and enjoyment of travel. You'll also have more space in a holiday rental than in a traditional hotel, which is another reason why a holiday rental is an attractive choice for families.
