"The Staff is what makes this place excellent. Fernando, a waiter was a stand out. He turned good dinners into great ones. The pool service was excellent as was the bartender. The resort grounds are very well maintained and beautiful. Rooms are definitely dated and can use updating. Our door had gaps around it and you could see daylight. Not the end of the world but if bugs were present it would be an issue. We did not go to the beach due to sargassum, the beach did look beautiful with plenty of chairs. Food was good across the board. Better than most all inclusive resorts. The only real negative was the cleanliness of the pools. First thing in the morning we would see napkins and leaves in the bottom of the pools the next day they were still there. We stayed in a club room. I do think it’s worth the upgrade because of the room view and the club pool with the bar, I wouldn’t upgrade just because of the alcohol selection and the club restaurant. Magna the club restaurant was good in my opinion but not great! I enjoyed the other restaurants just as much. All in all it is a beautiful resort, the staff are amazing! I would recommend it. I don’t know if I’d go back to the same hotel but would definitely try the Excellence brand again."
