The most perfect hotel ever. So gorgeous, with an infinity pool, teahouse and amazing restaurant - the hotel is so helpful to get you to the national park. Only issue is that it is quite far from certain areas, however if you're looking for a peaceful retreat and want to visit the Avatar Mountains, this is the place to stay.

Had a great 2 night stay while visiting the park in ZJJ. Such a peaceful and beautiful area, clean room, and great food. Rain was a big help by routing us through the park to avoid the crowds.

The lodge is in the middle of mountain, there is no restaurants, no social activities nearby. The lodge offers free breakfast, but you will have to pay double or triple the price for lunch and dinner if you want to eat inside lodge. The room is exactly same as old village type in China. If you are looking for a quiet place, this could suit you well. Otherwise think twice before booking. Lodge staffs are very nice and helpful.

Super unique stay in Zhang Jia Jie! 1000/10 recommend if you are visiting. Food was delicious, hospitality was amazing, Frankie was really helpful and kind. The rooms and atmosphere is very relaxing and zen, there’s a beautiful infinity pool and another pool. Lots of activities and a tea master at the hotel was one of a kind !

Lovely and homely stay at the lodge. We were pleasantly upgraded to a cabin room which we loved. Rain was extremely welcoming and helped us with all our luggage and even brought out a heater to our room as soon as we asked. Great communication, amazing location for the Zhangjaijei mountains, and Rain even dropped us and picked us up. There is a tea master as well who makes home made teas and some cute pets. Truly feels like a lovely family run cosy home. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful stay at No. 5 Valley Lodge

Nestled amongst the mountains of Zhangjiajie lies the coziest, warmest hotel featuring a world class act in Frankie (who coordinated ALL of our activities with a friendly smile), delicious breakfast and dinner - and views that are worth a million bucks. We had a blast here and highly recommend this place for all future travelers - especially if you’re here to spend time at the National Parks.

The guys on reception were so helpful and friendly and spoke very good English. Free drop off to park entrance, 5 mins away and would pick us up as arranged on WeChat. Fantastic place

We had a great stay at the hotel. They reallly make a effort so that all our needs are attended to. The room has a amazing view e the staff are very helpfull. The fact that can easily comunicate in english is also great. Frankie e the lady from the tea room (I’m so sorry I forgot her name) were really special. I highly recommend the hotel!!

It was a very memorable stay for our family here. The view was exceptional. The best part about our stay is having Frankie coordinate everything for us from pick up at train station, dinning, tickets to Zhangjaijei National park to the ins and outs of the area. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The staff were very accommodating. I would love to stay here again next time I visit.

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. We both loved it. Beautiful room, beautiful scenery, great shower, huge bed. Views in an upper room with private balcony across the mountains. Staff are amazing, Rain was incredibly helpful. Our breakfast was included. Dinner is also available from menu choices at extra (very reasonable fee), good food in a lovely onsite restaurant overlooking the infinity swimming pool. Free car transfers back and forth to the west gate of Zhangjiajie National Park. Set up WeChat so you can text them and they come immediately to pick you up. This is for west gate park entrance only/free car. Other car services at a fee. Airport pick up was CNY200, it’s an hour away. Can’t recommend this place enough, much more fun than staying in a big westernised hotel. We stayed 4 nights. Absolutely fantastic experience!

Perfect place to stay if you want to visit Avatar Mountains and the national park. Service from the airport and to all attractions, whenever you want. Rain was very helpful and professional. We had a great stay at the No. 5 Valley Lodge! The staff are very accommodating and welcoming. The hotel is located very close to the West Entrance of the park and offers rides to the entrance on days you wish to explore. On our day at the resort, there were fun activities organized by the hotel, a beautiful pool overlooking the valley, and rice fields you could walk along! If we ever return to Zhangjiajie, we will be sure to return!

I’m extremely satisfied with my stay at No. 5 Valley Lodge. The place is super quiet and located very close to the park entrance (only about 5 minutes away). If you’re looking for a peaceful spot away from the noise, this is the perfect place. The meals were delicious, the pool was comfortably heated, and the views were absolutely incredible. A special thank you to Rain, who was extremely helpful and guided us through every step of our stay — from picking us up at the airport, taking us to the park each day, and driving us to the train station — always perfectly on time.
