"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Pillows. It has elegance without being 'stuffy' and is beautifully furnished and decorated. Our rooms had balconies to relax overlooking the courtyard with gardens and seating for food and drink. We found the beds and pillows really comfortable and appreciated the amenities provided (robes and slippers, toiletries and coffee pod machine). The hotel has several restaurants of different ambiance, one offering a buffet breakfast with a good range of hot and cold food. For us, the location was ideal, with all of the historic sites and eateries within a short walk, yet away from the crowds and noise along the canal in the centre of the old city. The hotel can be reached by trams and buses from the station. Ghent is a beautiful city for a short break. It is also less than an hour by train to Bruges, Antwerp, Brussels, the coast at Ostend and Ypres is just over an hour. We would definitely stay at the Pillows again as a base to visit any of the sights in Flanders."

"Everything was lovely - especially the simple gym with ceiling-to-floor windows and the simple yet decent breakfast with the nice vibe in the dining area. One thing though was that the air conditioning was not strong enough (for heat wave) so we had to open some windows - and got bitten by mosquitoessss the whole night."

"This was exactly what we needed for our short trip. We stayed one night here but I think this hotel can be ideal for more than one night. The staff at the front desk were incredibly helpful with everything - it wasn't our first time in Ghent so we know our way around but they did check with us and we're prepared to tell us about the city. The reviews did not lie about the breakfast. It is so good. Everything is super fresh, tasty and filling. I would book again just for the breakfast, it's also great value for money. The bed was comfortable, the Aircon in the room was working properly which was important as we came during a heatwave. They also have parking but we came on a motorbike so didn't need to use it. I would definitely recommend especially since we tried many other hotels in Ghent and in Belgium. This is also great location as it's super close to the center but quiet enough for a much needed rest in the evening. I would book again."
