"It's a lovely property on the beach and the staff is kind and helpful. The breakfast was great. We stayed in the villas which were at the top of the hill, so be ready to walk up and down stairs. The room was clean, but there were several little things that didn't work right - bathroom door didn't always close and there were ants in the bathroom every day. But the beds were comfortable and we slept well. "

However, Makanda exceeded those expectations in every way, and it absolutely deserves recognition. This is a destination I would return to without hesitation."

"The stay was overall enjoyable. The views are great, and the property has wildlife everywhere you look. The best sightings were early in the morning or late at night, when things were quieter and the animals were more active. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was consistently friendly. Free breakfast was included and was great. Free guided day tour was also included. Also did the night tour and would highly recommend it. "

"The hotel was lovely but we had a room that faced the road and did not match the one described. I was very disappointed at first. But it was not the hotel's fault at all and they went out of their way to make our stay nice. My suggestion is not to book with Expedia. Go directly to the website of the property and select the appropriate room. "
