Hilton Vacation Club Flamingo Beach St. Maarten
10/10 Excellent
"This was our sixth trip to St. Maarten and our fifth time staying at the Flamingo Hilton. Both check-in and check-out went incredibly smoothly. Our room was spotless, fully functional, and came with a completely stocked kitchen. The absolute highlight of our trip was the resort's beautiful beach areas, and we loved having access to the amenities at the neighboring Royal Hilton property as well. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and there were always ample lounge chairs and umbrellas available for everyone. We will definitely be returning to the Flamingo Hilton in the near future!""
Sonesta Maho Beach All Inclusive Resort Casino & Spa
8/10 Good
"Overall, we had a pleasant stay thanks to the friendly staff, good food, and enjoyable atmosphere.
There are a few areas that could use some attention. Our check-in experience was slower and less organized than expected, which wasn’t the best way to begin our vacation. We traveled as a family and booked four rooms, and while they were generally comfortable, we noticed some maintenance and housekeeping issues. Some clocks showed visible rust, drawers damaged, the bathroom mirrors were damaged, and one room had pieces of tape still stuck to the ceiling, as though decorations had been removed but the tape was left behind. It gave the room an unkempt appearance and showed a need for more attention to detail.
We also experienced confusion with the pool towel policy. We were never given towel cards. A couple of days into our stay, some guests were given towels without being asked for a card, while others in our group were told they could not receive one without a card and had to return to the front desk. The inconsistency was frustrating, and clearer communication would have helped.
The coffee shop and late-night snack options were also quite limited, which was disappointing for guests looking for something outside regular meal hours. With some room updates, better attention to housekeeping, and improved communication, this hotel could provide an even better experience for travelers."
Sonesta Ocean Point All Inclusive, Adults Only Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Our ocean view room had a great view of the pool and ocean. The room was also spacious and very clean. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at Azul as well as the view and breeze from the ocean. The staff were courteous and very accommodating. The edge pool was wonderful! It was peaceful with staff there to serve you drinks. The resort is great for relaxing as well as taking advantage of the excursions to explore the island. You have access to the family side (Sonesta Maho Beach). It is very crowded and the food is only mediocre. I really enjoyed the quiet vibe at the Ocean Point!"
"I had an enjoyable stay overall. The hotel’s oceanfront location is excellent, with direct access to a beautiful beach. Since I visited during the low season, the entire area was incredibly quiet, with many nearby bars and restaurants closed and the beach almost empty—which was exactly what I was looking for in my short business trip, and absolutely loved.
The hotel’s restaurant was very good, offering tasty food and attentive service. The bar was also a nice place to relax and enjoy a drink.
The rooms are somewhat outdated, but they were clean and well maintained, which made for a comfortable stay.
The only downside was the level of service at the front desk and the bar, which generally wasn’t very warm or welcoming. Fortunately, there were a few exceptions. Ruby, in particular, stood out with her kindness and friendly attitude, making me feel genuinely welcome. Her excellent customer service deserves special recognition.
Overall, despite a few service-related issues, I had a pleasant and relaxing stay and would consider returning, especially for the peaceful atmosphere during the low season."
