"The room was outdated and the cabinetry needed to be fixed. The breakfast was the same throughout the whole week and the Kitchen Lady was very rude and did not seem happy to be there working every morning. "

"Great location for Del Mar, close to the beaches, shopping and restaurants. Staff was nice, rooms were clean and safe. Rear parking lot could use some work. The lighting at night was bad, with several lights not working, and trash everywhere. "

"The parking lot is sketchy. The rooms are horribly upgraded. I reserved the queen kitchenette and was told my room wasnt ready when i checked in at 3pm and was told to come back. I told them no. I traveled over 7 hours with a baby. This pleace is absolutely horrible, getto as hell. Half the people here LIVE here permanently. One is a creepy old drunk guy that does not stop talking. They do not serve breakfast as advertised. They wont clean ur room or give you anything extra or clean towels. You have to walk to the office and get it yourself. The phones dont work. Just dont. Go elsewhere. This place absolutely SUCKS. Stayed here 3/27/2026. "

"I warn you, don’t stay here. This place is disgusting. I don’t even think they change their bed sheets when customers check out. Everything about this place is disgusting. Nothing look like the photo. Nasty"

"This was my second time staying here. The first time everything went well. The second not so much. There was a huge roach that I saw run across the room. I called the front desk and they did offer to move me and I did only because I was there for an important event and I didn’t want to go through the hassle of getting a new hotel. Staff handled it great. I know it is not their fault. House keeping told me it was because the shower didn’t have a cover on the drain. I was very uneasy about the situation and didn’t unpack. I even kept my purse zipped because I didn’t want to take anything home with me. I will not be staying here again. This situation is unacceptable to me. "

"Laundry facilities out of order due to the card insert mechanisms on washers & dryers being removed by vandals. I even told the manager I had laundry to do and he didn’t say a word about them being broken! "

"Pool was great weather was too chilly to fully enjoy. Property was under renovation while we visited but staff was friendly and clean. Was close to Legoland which is what we were looking for, not a great walking path but managable. Close to food and stores. "

"This hotel is old and the walls are very thin. It was also under construction which was not communicated to me beforehand (by hotels.com) and they put us right next to the construction. Needless to say, there was no sleeping in on vacation. Plus there was no pool or spa available. I doubt we will stay there again despite how friendly the staff were. "

"Parking was horrible due to construction. Loud boulder noise daily from construction. Was unaware of the renovation until arrival. Did not get a King size and Queen size bed in the room as requested. Was not aware that if any room changes requested that we need to notify both parties (Expedia and LaJolla Cove hotel). Only stayed from 24 March 2026. - 26 March 2026 for a wedding event. Departed early 27 March 2026."
