Absolutely one of the most comfortable places I have stayed, loved it will definitely stay again, great little pub down the road for evening food,
Breakfast was just perfect.
Really enjoyed our stay in this lovely Manor House. Jakes and Jane were extremely welcoming and friendly. Our room was very comfortable. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided in room daily were very welcomed after a day walking on the Moors. An amazing breakfast every morning which was delicious. Lovely and peaceful location with easy access to Dartmoor and Cornwall. Would definitely stay here again.
I can't recommend this hotel enough! Our adult family of 6 stayed here for two nights on a trip to visit Dartmoor from the US. Jakes and Jane were so hospitable and kind, and the hotel is extremely comfortable. We wished we could stay longer.
Absolutely wonderful stay. The hosts were just the right amount of friendly, thoughtful and professional without being overbearing. The room was beautiful and very clean. Such a stunning place.
Had an amazing stay here. The lovely 4 poster bed was so comfortable lovely room and en suite. Couldn’t fault breakfast so nice and plenty to choose from. Hosts so friendly would definitely return and will definitely recommend. Thanks for a lovely stay .
Very warm and genuinely friendly welcome and service. Very comfortable bed and a sofa that was a dream to sit and relax on. We loved our stay and will look to stay here whenever we are in the area.
Yet again, a lovely stay over in this beautiful hotel with fantastic service whilst visiting family. Everything perfect, the location, the hotel, the room and the breakfast. I can’t say there is a more hospitable and welcoming place I’ve stayed, and I do like a lot of holidays and breaks every year. 100% recommended and I’ll definitely be back to stay here in the coming months.
Perfect stay! Lovely house in excellent location. So comfortable and relaxing. We will definitely come back if in the area. Great breakfast too - smoked haddock and scrambled egg a terrific option for fish eaters.
What a find! A quaint old building oozing character with everything you need for a peaceful, relaxing break. We wanted for nothing and the hosts couldn’t do enough to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect. Breakfast was top notch. Overall excellent value for money. Will definitely stay again if we visit the area.
The staff treated us like old friends, anything we requested was made available. The rooms was very comfortable with all the home comforts. The breakfast was perfect, great quality and good portions. The service was prompt and professional.
The staff were extremely helpful and on hand if and when we needed them. This is an old building which has kept its character which added to the experience. The room had an en-suite and was clean and the water was nice and hot.
They don’t do evening meals but Okehampton is not far away so eating out is not a problem. Breakfast was excellent and plenary of choice.
What a great place to stay. Jakes and Jane are wonderful hosts making sure we were well looked after, we had an early start on Saturday and would miss breakfast, they made sure we had a packed lunch to fuel us for our walk on Dartmoor.
The rooms are kept spotlessly clean and warm. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were very quiet.
Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of cereal, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, and hot food all freshly cooked.
I will definitely stay here again when I’m in the area
Yet another wonderful stay at this incredible hotel. What a lovely quiet location, but such a shame it was a fleeting visit this time. As always everything was to an impeccable standard. Thank you for making me feel so welcome and for the high standards you set for your hotel. I just need to stay longer next time.
Stayed just for the one night but didn’t disappoint. Lovely small hotel close to the moors. Very well appointed, Everything was as perfect as we could have hoped. Rooms and hotel immaculate and very clean. Service and food couldn’t have been better. Great value (I’d even say cheap for what you get, compared to other hotels). Definitely would recommend and next time in Devon, we will be booking to stay again.
It’s such a lovely place, a historic building surrounded by beautiful gardens. The evening I arrived I went for a hike to the nearest tor. The foot path starts right across the street and takes you up to wonderful views of the countryside in just 20 min! My room had a big bath tub and I took a long bath after the hike. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Loved every moment of my stay.
Jen and Jake were excellent hosts, warm welcome from entering. Very comfortable nights sleep both nights. So quiet and peaceful. Breakfasts were plentiful with wide choice and cooked to order.
Only minor point was dusty TV at back, noticed when tilted towards sofa.
Lack of dinner service not an issue as very good pubs within 5 min drive and more within 15.
Excellent location to discover Devon.
Definitely stay again and recommend.
