Amazing hotel

Our stay at Open Gate was amazing. The rooms were beautiful with spectacular water views. But the best part about it was the staff. It’s a family run hotel and they are wonderful to talk with. Very helpful, friendly and always welcoming.

Open Gate Hotel in Praiano is a true gem on the Amalfi Coast! This family-run hotel offers such a warm and welcoming atmosphere—the staff are extremely kind, helpful, and always available to assist with anything you need. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and have incredible views of the sea that make every morning and evening unforgettable. Breakfast was another highlight, with plenty of delicious choices including eggs, fresh breads, yogurt, fruit, and pastries—something for everyone to enjoy before heading out for the day. The combination of genuine hospitality, comfort, and breathtaking scenery makes this hotel a perfect choice. We can’t wait to return!

Better than we expected

The room was spacious, we had a room with four beds, it was clean and the comforters were so thick and comfortable! The air conditioning worked amazingly. The breakfast buffet had scrambled eggs! The bathroom was large with a great shower! The balcony had chairs and great views! Great hotel.

My recent stay at Open Gate was truly exceptional from our arrival to our final departure. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted outside the entrance by the hotel staff, and that personal attention continued throughout our stay. The room was well appointed, spacious, and spotless. We thoroughly enjoyed the extensive breakfast buffet, offering an impressive array of freshly prepared, homemade specialties. The location was ideal for connecting to the local bus service, and the staff were eager to provide us with helpful travel information. Special appreciation goes to Pasquale and his team for providing a wonderful experience and for the thoughtful care package prepared to support our 3:00 a.m. departure. Looking forward to a return visit!

Stunning views from our room, and I think this was one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The staff was wonderful and treated us as if we were old friends - they were lovely. Just know that walking to town is not that easy. No sidewalks and traffic buzzing around turns makes it a bit scary. You should taxi to town and elsewhere

Wonderful hotel and stay! Great location in Praiano, we really enjoyed being able to walk to different restaurants for dinner as well as a hidden gem of a beach with access to water taxis. Food was fabulous and bed was comfy. They also have parking spots available if you rented a car. Our favourite hotel experience on the Amalfi Coast.

The hotel manager Pasquale delivered exceptional service, helping with car arrangements, bus schedules, dining reservations and more. This is an absolute gem on the Amalfi coast! The restaurant downstairs had an amazing view and homemade delicious food. The beach was a quick 15 minute walk. The staff was incredibly kind and personable, they even sent a doctor to our room since my friend was sick. They treat you like family here. I would recommend this hotel to anyone I meet!

We were so impressed with Hotel Open Gate! The staff are very welcoming and the rooms are great. We stayed on the second floor and had a magnificent balcony overlooking the water. The location is a perfect spot to day trip to other towns along the Amalfi coast and there is transportation right in front of the hotel. The restaurant has a great terrace on the water as well. Great spot if you are looking to be seaside but also explore.

Stay here and not Positano!

Loved this gem! We had a gorgeous balcony looking overlooking the water. We loved staying here versus Positano as it was way more peaceful and quiet. Buses were easy to get up and down the coast from here. The family who runs the place was incredibly hospitable. Room was very very clean, bed was comfortable and breakfast was great. Highly recommend and I would definitely stay here again. Restaurant for dinner was great too with a nice view.
