The beds were very low to the ground, rooms smelt very damp and musty and staff didn't speak hardly any English. The price was reasonable compared to other hotels in that area of the state and staff was friendly.

Reasonably priced, clean, basic hotel, great place to stay in the Sioux Falls area. Very friendly owners. The area is quiet, it located in a small town with good food options and a great walking trail and park.

I mistakenly reserved this hotel for the night before I arrived, but management allowed me to stay without paying twice. Greatly appreciated.

Very pleased with our night stay in Billmar. The only complaint is the lady in the room next to us talking loudly for extended periods of time during the night. (perhaps on the phone). Otherwise, all was good.

Positives and negatives

The website stated that there was a small exercise room and a pool. There were neither of these. The towels were dingy and stained. The room was clean and the front counter person was very personable.

Consider staying somewhere else

I’ve never been treated so disrespectfully checking into a hotel. Not only was I spoken to with such little disregard but my parts were yelled at. My parents were followed by the owners and accused of sneaking pets into the building without their knowlege when they were in fact declared on their check in paperwork. There is not a chance I would stay there again under that ownership.

Pretty run down looking. New towels and bath mats, that weren’t stained brown, would be a plus. Breakfast was a terrible setup of cold cereal or Little Debbie type cake. Watched the guy remake coffee by adding water to old coffee in the pot and dumping in fresh water coffee tank.

I called the hotel directly after booking online to let them know we would be very late (ie around midnight) secondary to a severe storm and being on the road in unforeseen circumstances. The hotel manager berated and harassed me vehemently. He stated there is no late check in and everyone would be asleep. He then offered me advice that "in the future, i needed to plan ahead".

Our bathroom shower/tub was filthy! Hair all over, used bar of soap, thick dust all over the edges of tub. Toilet was worse with hairs and filth! Our towels smelled like old musty cellar and the carpets were definitely not vacuumed… Nasty

Language barrier was a real problem!! Called with questions and before I was finished, they hung up. I reserved for 5 people. My daughter and her boyfriend were going to get their own place. He saw 6 people walk in and before i could say anything jumped on me saying I count 6. I was ready to walk away because of his tone. Wish we had!! We had a king, queen and pull out couch. The pull out couch is a joke!! Springs missing, mattress worthless!! Breakfast was a joke!
