OK hotel in RAK

The address is not specific enough to enter in a GPS, but the hotel is easy enough to find. This place is quite dated, and the view on the town side is horrible : I asked to change room, but was told that on the other side there is "noisy" (not "noise") and therefore it's not recommended. Breakfast is nothing to call home about. Would not stay there again. The staff is incompetent, don't ask for any kind of directions, they're incapable of providing those.

Good except the rusty brown water

My booking had been cancelled but they were able to re book me with my original price. There were people smoking in the elevator and at breakfast. The room was very nice and big and it had a balcony which was nice. The worse part was the shower there was no water pressure and the nozzle of the shower head was orange with heavy water build up. As I was finishing washing my hair I look down notice the water had turned rusty orange. Yuck! When I was drying my hair the tiny white towel got orange stains all on it. Otherwise it was good but that was just horrid. Lucky I did not have blond hair.

It was not bad, but a small issue ((providing a water kettle))degraded the hotel evaluation?? I even asked the x-manager for it (Kettles are almost everywhere in all hotels around the world , even in one-star hotels)...The answer was no for a standard room?

Quite okay but noisy hotel for traveller with car

Breakfast good, hotel far from city center, large shopping centre on the other side of road. Lots of noice from roof restaurant and massage rooms near by.

Stay at Three star hotel

To be honest it was an average experience to stay at City hotel. Morning front desk staff were really rude and unprofessional, There attitude and behavior even don't deserve to rate. Housekeeping staff was good and cooperative. At breakfast almost everyday the same menu were served. If I am going to summaries my stay so my only concern would be the Morning two Filipino female receptionist/front desk agent, they really need to educate and get some training for the dealing or working in front desk. (Evening Front desk staff were excellent) Thanks

Be aware of some noise

The hotel is a budget hotel for business trips. The restaurant is ok so far, good food for reasonable prices. The pub on GF was closed for what reason ever. The bar on 1st floor was open, too loud local music and too many drunk people. There is another bar I didn't visit; the bad surprise came at night when I was kept awaken by some loud music. Asking the staff they told me that there is a club on the top floor which is leased so not under the control of the hotel (and therefore not mentioned on their website). If you choose this hotel make sure that while checking in you ask for a room on the not so noisy side; my room was .05 see to get something around .07 as my colleagues there were not affected.

Other reviewers have given this hotel a hard time and nearly put me off staying here, however, I found the hotel to be excellent. Ample free parking, good internet connectivity and free, good breakfast selection, clean and courteous staff. There are no problems here for the business traveller. Recommended
