I d go again
I was pleasantly surprised staying at this motel... I had read many sketchy reviews and one good recent one before I arrived. This turned out to be a totally clean and remodeled room for a very reasonable price. The parking parking lot was vary well lit and with lots of cameras so I felt secure leaving my car parked outside.
Clean & comfortable, however, there was no hairdryer, nor any toiletries--dispeners for them in shower were empty. Obviously been a recent update in the room.
The rooms are newly remodeled and mostly clean. The room we got had smudges on the light switch in the bathroom and dirt on the floor.
This is the second time we stayed there. The first time was last year. The staff are pretty friendly and accommodating.
The area around it does have some homeless people but they don't seem to bug anybody.

Liked: Staff & service
Staff was very nice and helpful. The only issue was that the towels, room, and floors were super dirty. The towels were stained and the floor felt like they haven't been moped or swept. My feet/socks were very dirty after just being in the room for a few mins unfortunately.
I usually don’t stay in Oroville when I come to visit family, but since my mother was in the ICU at Oroville Hospital I wanted to be closer. The Villa accepts pets. 20 a night per pet is excessive though. Places on the higher end are usually $10 a night and cap at $50 (if they charge at all). If there is a next time I’ll make sure to bring my pet’s ESA certificate.
The place was quiet. The parking lot is mostly enclosed. There were a lot of people wandering around outside, but I feel like most of them were just walking their dogs since the Villa is surrounded by other motels and they never walked through the Villa’s parking lot.
The room smelled clean, and if you know the difference between how air freshener smells and how a room that has actually been cleaned smells, then you can really appreciate how hard this staff must work. No bugs, no dander, and the microwave and refrigerator were also cleaned and sanitized.
The water pressure was perfect. No toilet issues. The towels and bedding are old though and some have stained over time. They were definitely clean though. My room did not have a 40” TV, but it did have cable. The free wifi was pretty good though. I streamed Netflix with no problems.
The only other thing preventing me from leaving a perfect review is that the room doors do not have a swinging arm or any kind of secondary lock. There is just a deadbolt that I am pretty sure disengages when the room card is used. I never got any serious danger vibes there though.
The weird part was to be asked for a deposit in cash. When we went to the office to check out nobody was there. We rang the door bell and nothing. We lost our deposit. Not happy about it.
The staff was fine, but not having access to the lobby and standing at a outdoor check-in stand, loudly speaking thru the plex glass, in the cold, and conducting the five-minute paperwork was hardly an inviting setting.
