If you are given room #27 refuse it!

The owner and daughter were very nice at check in. I did mention we had driven from Townsville and so worn out and ready for a nice rest, and that is why I wonder why we were put in the only room right next to A1 highway, with double windows that face that road. The road noise made it impossible to sleep. We did manage to get in a couple of hours rest as the traffic dwindled in the very early morning hours. Honestly, that room should not be rented out...never stay in room #27. I feel that the rest of the motel would be very presentable, clean, comfortable bed, a little outdated, but the price reflects that. We had requested a room with a kitchenette but would have forgone that if we had realised we would have to deal with the road noise. I am sure I would have more than happy with our stay otherwise. I just hope #28 was already occupied and not just left empty. It would have definitely been quieter.

On arrival, i was greeted with a big smile and Susan was very friendly and wanted to help us in any way she could. The room, bathroom was very clean, tidy and the bed was comfortable. Laundry was on site.. $4 for both washing machine and dryer.. Highly recommended. P & S

The relatively new owners are welcoming and helpful, and keen to improve their motel. Our accommodation was spacious and comfortable. However we were disappointed that whilst the booking website included free foxtel in the list of amenities,we were told when we queried how to access it that it is no longer available.
