The room had roaches and the keycards and nfc braclets had to be reprogrammed. Then front desk service is very slow and the lines became too long.

The front hotel staff was absolutely phenomenal, especially compared to nearby hotels that we have stayed at in the past. The rooms are interesting, as most resorts focus now on quantity over quality, and this resort was built long ago with size and comfort in-mind. The only lacking areas for improvement are the lunch dining options (and flavors), with speed being a major issue. The resort would also benefit by removing the live piano, live band, and replace them with modern music and a DJ. The constant Jamaican music (and dancehall-reggae) blasted by the pool area bartenders was painful after a full week. We had to leave the resort just to go dancing.

What I did like about the property is that it was close to the airport and the rooms had good air conditioning. But there are a number of things that I did not like. Everyday that we was there we could not make a reservation to non of the restaurants, we had to eat at the buffet or entire stay and we honestly grew tired of eating it. The check in process took forever because the lines was very long. Riu does not cater to customer service, once you are on the resort and get to your room, no one is there to assist you and help. We spent majority of our time in lines to get drinks because they do not have staff to do that. But someone is always in your face trying to sell you something. The gift shop is a rip off! I got sick from the food and needed Imodium and it cost me 36.00 and then the lady told me it was an extra 2.00 if I wanted a bag😑.

A great place for vacation. Staff is very polite and courteous. Food and entertainment are excellent. We loved the music and enjoyed too much.

I like the pool the beach and the people. It was hot but having fans on the hallways and lobby and not turning them on was a mistake. At times we couldn’t enjoy a walk on the hotel because there was not ventilation.

My room was the view that I paid for this was disappointing but the amenities in the room was nice.
