“Great Stay”
Hotel and staff was amazing, but the food at the buffet was just ok.
“Occidental Grand”
Wonderful hotel. I would recommend that guests make reservations for dinners as soon after arrival as possible as we waited until the second day and were not able to get reservations for 2 of our 3 reservations required dinners.
“Great Family Vacation”
This was our first "all inclusive package," because we always believed quality might suffer...we were wrong! The accomodations were superlative. The room was kept immaculate and was extremely comfortable. The grounds were well kept. There was a wide choice of restaurants on campus, and all were excellent. The activites were diverse and the staff took a geuine interest in our relaxation and enjoyment. Thank you!
“My next visit/vacation”
All staff were helpful and attentive to needs. The only thing i would request next time is to be on a lower floor.
“Had a great time”
My wife and I just got back from a week at the OG and we loved it. The rooms are very nice but do have a bit of a damp smell probably because it was +90% humidity all the time. The beach and diving are great. We spent all morning on the beach went out for two dives after lunch and then sat on the beach again until sunset. We will definitely be going back.
“Best Bang for Buck in Cozumel”
My family and I just returned from a week at the Grand (11/4-11/11) and it was perfect. The staff really went out of their way to make us comfortable and we were a bit needy having a baby with us but they were great bringing milk to our room and restocking our fridge extra full. The beds were a bit hard but the rooms were great, marble everything and Huge bathrooms. All the buildings were like condos seperated by jungle gardens. There is a lot of walking to navigate the amenities of the property and the mosquitoes are bad at night but tolerable with bug spray. The food was really good for buffet style food and hot (despite what others wrote). The beach was the best I have ever seen, we spent so much time snorkeling right off the beach and swimming in schools of fish and diving for starfish. My recomendations: Bring a big insulated cup for drinks, it can be a long walk to the bar. Bug spray is a must in the evenings. Bring your own snorkel and mask, the free rentals are cheap type. If you have kids bring snack stuff as there is none between meals. Bring a good camera. We loved this resort and cant wait to go back!!!
“Great Vacation”
This was our second time to this hotel and would go back again. The service, food, and beach are wonderful. This is a great place for relaxing.
“Can't wait to go back”
Absolutely exceeded all expectations. Most all-inclusive resorts have mediocre quality food, but I would have thought the chefs here were trained in Europe. The room was incredible, the staff was wonderful, and the location couldn't be better.
“Perfect hotel in Cozumel”
Young, well-internationally travelled family, first time visit to Cozumel (time of year was early December). Delightful hotel, everything as expected. Great beach and pool, well located for exploring other beaches. Possible to criticize food, though we found it to be on par with price and relaxed atmosphere of this hotel. Service could not be faulted, though you should make it clear upon check-in that you are not interested in time-share free tours. We do think that some of the criticisms from other travelers are unfair or not justified. If folks want stronger drinks, order a shot of tequila and add to your drink!
“If your normal and not a hotel critic or a person that is just a pain, read!!!”
The Occidential blew our expectations away!!! My girlfriend and I were extremely nervious about booking an all-clusive, due to the reviews that one would say it was terriffic and a another would complain about the food or staff......or hotel.....or...... Well let me tell you if you aren't one of those people that is a pain and are down to earth and just want to have a great time and relax this is the place. This place blew our expectations away, we couldn't be happier with the Occidential Cozumel. The staff absolutely amazing, the campus absolutely beautiful, beach phenomenal, food was good not great. I would recommend getting creative with the grill, we had them make us breakfast burritos for breakfast and different things all week. Great way to go and the buffet is good as well, they mix it up nicely. Again If your wondering where to stay in Cozumel, it's the Occidential for us!! We would recommend this place to anyone!! Only complaint was the time share crap, word to the wise they attack you after you've been in your room for a about 5 minutes!!! Just don't get suckered in to it!! If your looking for a great relaxing get away and just want relax this place is perfect! We had our first child this year and he is 9 months, this was our first time away from him and this sounds bad, but The Occidential Cozumel helped us not even think about the little guy. P.S. We love him very much, but it was time for Mom and Dad to get away for a week! No complaints Here!!!!!
