“impressed cheap hotel”
perfect cheap hotel, good location ,just 2 minutes from copacabana beach.breakfast every morning, clean rooms , ac , everything that you need .if i come back again there, i will use the same hotel
“I stay there all the time”
Savoy Othon is just what is expected for the price: clean sheets, clean rooms, nice staff, good breakfast. No frills. Very convenient: the Metro station is just two blocks away. Copacabana beach just two blocks away. The Bus stop just a block away.
“Good, clean hotel in a good location”
This hotel is on the main commercial street in Copacabana. There are lots of stores and restaurants on this street, with lots of people on the street, and it seemed very safe to me. The Cantagalo Metro stop is only 3 blocks away, and the beach only 2 blocks away. I arrived there after traveling 3 weeks with an adventure tour group and it was so nice to be able to get in touch again with the world, as they have CNN on the television. I got a room in the back, which was quiet, but unfortunately the air conditioning system in my room was pretty loud, and I got tired of the noise, turned it off and opened the window. There is a great restaurant only a couple of blocks down the same street which is a buffet, and you put food on your plate, they weigh it, and you pay by the weight. They have a lot of nice salads and vegetables, which I think is unusual in Brazil. But nothing is really cheap in Brazil. Having a nice meal there cost me about $13.
“Basic hotel”
This is a very basic hotel, the price was high, but it was Carnival, all hotels were jacked up in price. It certainly was not worth the price we paid, but it served our basic needs. The room was old and outdated and the window looked out onto a dark brick wall. Our friends who booked a larger room had a better view and a remodeled room with updated furniture and bathroom. The breakfast was good.
“Great Location”
Two blocks from Copacabana Beach. Supermarket next door, drugstore and currency exchange across the street, internet cafe and laundromat a few steps away, HSBC Citi and Cinema a few blocks away. A cab ride to the major attractions of Rio. Overall the hotel is a good value with its price and location. Free breakfast is adequate. Rooms are spartan but sufficient; certainly not a luxury hotel. Second time staying in this hotel and pleased with price and convenience to everything.
“Reasonable Copacabana mid price hotel”
Savoy Othon Hotel OK for price but not outstanding. Best thing is breakfast buffet which was excellent but room was a bit on the basic side and bathroom left a lot to be desired. Location was good with regard to it being very close to Copacabana beach but be very careful at night in area where hotel is located. Many "working girls" and their clients use this area with "Help discotech/night club" being nearby which would seem to be a haven for prostitution.
“Savoy Othon Hotel Review”
I think this hotel would have had been good back in the days but right now it lacks the charm, cleanliness, proper upkeep of the rooms. It seems it hasn't been renovated in ages. According to the amount I paid, the bed sheets were mediocre, toiletries were bad and the blankets were dirty and dusty. I wont recommend this hotel.
“Run down Copacabana”
Free breakfast is very good and it is much more than at a regular U.S. hotel. The hotel is very old and at Expedia rates I got a very small room in lower floor with a window to a tiny courtyard. The window across the courtyard was about 10 yards from mine. Ice cost is $5 real a bucket.
