“Just like home!”
We loved staying at this bed and breakfast! Geoffry (our host) and Jonathan (the cook) took very good care of us! Every morning we had fresh fruit, OJ, milk, delicious pancakes, bacon, sausage, potatoes, eggs, and toast. Better than any hotel breakfast I have ever had! We had never stayed in a B & B before, and we were very happy. Very close to several good restaurants as well. People were friendly and a safe place to be. Would stay there agian!
“A Great Experience”
The house is charming, the host is friendly and knowledgeable of the area, the breakfasts are delicious, and it is easy to find. Definitely a great place to stay for any trip to Toronto or the surrounding areas.
“Delightful Surprise”
The Guesthouse was great fun! Imagine staying in an antique or used book shop. With rooms named the Agatha Christie Room or Miss Marple Room, you get the sense of having stepped into the setting of a suspense story. Good rates, food, and service. Downtown was easily accessible by bus or streetcar service which eliminated the need to walk a street which at night felt a bit sketchy. Albert Pimblett is located in Cabbagetown, a diverse boutique community with all kinds of small shops and restaurants. Wonderful!
“B&B Escape in Cabbagetown”
Outstanding location and great service!
“Thank you for a relaxing weekend”
While this B&B was a bit cluttered, it was very charming. Jeffrey was very hospitable and my room was clean & comfortable. I spend so many weekends in hotels for business, and while the breakfast was not the best, the company and atmosphere was unbeatable. I'll take it any day over a stuffy hotel with a great breakfast. You do need to let the owners know if you plan on bringing a car so that they can accomodate you. I did walk all around the neighborhood without any problems, and I loved the balcony outside my room. I even met the happy neighbors! Thanks for a relaxing place to stay in Toronto.
“hockeytour09”
The hotel was small but very very interesting decor. The breakfast was very good. The tips he gave for nearby restaurants were great choices also. When we go back to Toronto, we will stay there.
“Funky with quirks”
B&B in old house in Cabbagetown, funky in character, friendly & flexible owner, house jampacked with books and odd knick-knacks, room tight but clean & adequate with window that opens, comfortable bed, no A/C thus stuffy in hot weather, bathroom fine except sink and bathtub drains plugged with hair, very nice shaded patio outside.
“Bad area”
While the hotel itself was an antique lovers dream, it was in a shady part of town (at best). We did not walk around after dark as the hotel is located next to large housing project and many people in the neighborhood looked very sketchy. It would have been worth the extra money to stay at the harbour front, which is where all the activities we wanted to partake in were located. The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful, but overall I would not stay here again, due to the neighborhood.
“no impressed what so ever,”
the place was very cluttered with junk, a very large dog roams the house, the place was full of flys. the food was greasy and very unappealing. the parking was almost non existant and i recieved a parking ticket after being told i could park on the street besibe the b+b, only to be told in the moring after recieving a ticket that i should have moved my car before 7am in the morning, and proceeded to laugh it off.
