"Janet & Stuart couldn’t have been better hosts. Our room was crisply clean with an oh, so comfy bed and a view of the sea. Janet had freshly baked breads and cookies waiting for us. There was a comfy living room with espresso machine, drink glasses, etc at the ready for guests. The breakfast room was perfect. Stuart served us individually prepared breakfast from a generous menu. It was exactly as portrayed: an historic (and idiosyncratic) small inn/hotel; not fancy, very straightforward; on the water in a wonderful location; a great kitchen punching way above its weight. Great conversation with the owner and others at breakfast (which had a huge variety of options) about what else to see in Scotland. On site parking. Definitely would stay again. "

"Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. The lovely Maryanne and the mischievous Angus were perfect hosts. "Beautiful location (waterfront), extremely friendly and helpful staff, close to lots of walkable dining options,…. Only con was that there were very few close parking spaces. One night we ended up parking in a pay to park lot about 5-10 minutes walk away. Not ideal, but not a deal breaker. Still would recommend this hotel if staying in Portree."
