"We loved the chiang rai area. Pool was beautiful! We had drugs in our safe upon arrival from the previous person staying in the room so we had to get those removed. The other issue was the hotel needs some maintenance around the windows. There was a thunderstorm while we stayed there and the windows were leaking water we all over the floor so the whole area was soaking. Took 2 towels sitting on the floor overnight to soak up all the water. The room also smelled of almost a damp mildew. But...

"My partner and I had a wonderful stay at the golden pine resort , the room was clean and spacious, the breakfast was very tasty and much food to choose from , the swimming pool was large and clean for a relaxing swim after a day of sight seeing , the staff were very helpful and kind people , The resort is just out of the city with rice farming around and views of the mountains , it was nice and quiet at this resort . "Property should be 3 star at best. Fake orange juice and cheap products for breakfast think they are dying as a hotel and trying to cut corners. No lifts. In need of a major refurbishment everything to old and a little run down. I can see it might have warranted a 4 star 10 years ago but by todays standards its not up to the quality of a 4 star or of 4 star service. Leaky bum guns. Lights that do not work. Old aircon systems. Bed was clean but linen marked."
