"Breakfast was good and staff were brilliant. Parking however is dire. Had to resort to parking in public car park away from hotel. At the room price we paid I would have expected free or reduced cost parking."

"Really disappointing stay. The room was unbearably hot from the moment we arrived, and despite using the fan provided and having the window open, so much so somebody could probably climb through, it made little to no difference. To make matters worse, the radiator in the bathroom appeared to be on full blast the entire time, with no obvious switch or way to turn it off. The heat made it incredibly uncomfortable and resulted in a very poor night’s sleep. We raised the issue with staff during our stay, but unfortunately nothing was done to resolve it beyond an apology and them saying “we did provide you with a fan”. Given the impact this had on our stay, it was disappointing that no compensation or meaningful attempt to improve the situation was offered. Just a mere “sorry”. On a positive note, the room was presented well, clean and had good amenities. Pub was also nice, ample parking too. However overall, the customer experience was poor and not what we expected. I stayed for my birthday and had to retreat home early the next day due to the lack of sleep so plans were unfortunately ruined."

"The hotel does not live up to the advertising. It is not aging well. The lift was broken throughout our stays. The floors are extreme creaky and you hear everybody moving throughout the building. The doors to the rooms slam shut and again can be heard by all. The room my wife and I were put in had a sloping roof that made accessing one side of the bed a difficult process."

"Fantastic venue with friendly colleagues. The only point for us was with breakfast. Very good quality produce, We didn't understand why any breakfast other than the full English, and one other item carried a surcharge. Surely an eggs benedict is cheaper to produce than the full English, but carried a £4 surcharge.Would strongly recommend s visit and we would stay again. The complimentary room upgrade was superb."

"Had a three night stay. Quirky Harry Potter themed room. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Had to report to the manager that the shower wasn’t working and he immediately went up to the room and simply turned it on. How embarrassing …. and me an engineer too. Ate in the hotel first night. Food was very good and comparatively inexpensive. Nicely cooked breakfasts as well. Good choice of beer. First time in Alnwick. Would go again. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Loved Harry’s bar which was just a few yards from the hotel."
