There are a many things to recommend about Home Town Addis Hotel, starting with very comfortable beds, great showers, excellent coffee, a friendly and helpful hotel manager who speaks English (having lived much of his life in the DC area), and close proximity to several restaurants and a grocery store. This is still Ethiopia, though, so the room was noisy due to the bar on the first level, the bathroom floor got wet each time I used the shower, there's no central heat, and we lost power and wi-fi one of the 8 days we were there. That said, I will stay here again, even if I have to wear wax earplugs and long johns and a fleece jacket to bed. If you want a Western-style hotel experience, stay at the Hilton or the Sheraton. For me, Home Town Addis Hotel is just perfect.
