"We visited Balito with a family of 7 and had the most wonderful stay. The hotel is small but updated and it is run by a wonderful family who makes you feel at home. The pool area is lovely and the breakfast and coffee is perfect in the morning. The rooms were good for our large family (we had two rooms with 3 beds each) and the area is very walkable. It’s about a 14 min walk to the beach (with my slower children) and a 10 min taxi into Chania. There is also a bus to take you to town and some of the other beaches that stops nearby but we didn’t do it because of elders in our group. There is a taverna around the corner that was amazing. Overall I highly recommend this hotel and will be back again if we return to Crete. "

"Christos was very friendly and accommodating for us throughout our stay. He called taxis for us, gave us recommendations for places to eat in Old Town and gave us extra towels. The main chef cooked well and we loved the free breakfast. He was attentive whenever any of the food or drinks were low. Pool and beach access were the best part. Pool is right there and had many shaded spots. Walking to the beach takes less than 2 minutes. Whether you’re walking to a restaurant on the beach or on the street, it is quick and safe. Be sure to check out Sophia’s art shop. We loved the original art pieces there! "

"Spotlessly clean, very quiet and well maintained grounds & pool area. Helpful & friendly owner. Great location for beach, transport, lovely places to eat & local supermarkets. Bedroom was a decent size, well furnished with a very comfortable bed. A safe, fridge & kettle were provided & the balcony was a good size. Only slight negative would be that, although the air conditioning in the bedroom was efficient I was unable to change the temp setting as desired"
