"We chose Costa Rica as a destination to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. La Fortuna was our first stop in a 3 week itinerary. We had 4 nights at Fortuna Retreat. We could not have asked for more! It was perfecto. The accomodation was exceptional - we were allocated room C4 which was immaculate and had the most spectacular view of Arenal Volcano. The staff were phenomenal, nothing was too much trouble. It genuinely felt as though they derived pleasure from our happiness. We’ve now been to 5 other properties in Costa Rica and it’s still our favourite one."

Made me very nervous at first because there was no website and no one to call other than through the travel agency (please correct me if I’m wrong)… but the staff was so friendly, always smiling! The bungalows were stunning, spacious and have everything you need. Also, literally in the jungle! Fell asleep to the sound of animals every night and some rain. So peaceful. Also Geckos is AWESOME! Please help their shelter donate necessities and basics for the pups. You can volunteer too!"
