"Lovely hotel, rooms a bit old fashioned but very clean and exceptionally good value for what we paid. We didnโt partake in breakfast or dinner as we had friends staying nearby and we ate out with them but we did purchase teas and coffees which were good. We will definitely be visiting again soon!"

"We had a stay in a seaview inter connecting room with my daughter and grandchildren. The room was absolutely fabulous. Newly decorated, beautiful clean fluffy carpets, great beds and a to die for sea view. Breakfast was lovely and had lots of choices even for gluten free. We used the bar too. Was fabulous I wouldn't hesitate to return we had a fabulous stay thank."

"I have to say the royal is ( was ) a grand hotel,it is in a prime location,has a lot of style, it's showing its age in a lot of places . They're in the midst of trying to make the bedrooms more attractive. There is scaffolding on one side of the hotel not sure what they're doing but there is plenty to do in sure. We booked one of the standard rooms because it had a seaview,it was basic but ok for one night. The food in the restaurant was very nice and there's an extensive choice in the bar, excellent service throughout. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would choose the royal again but definitely one of the refurbished rooms."
