A traditional old fashioned hotel set in large grounds a five minute walk from the centre of Malton. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean rooms and modern bathroom with shower. Traditional breakfast cooked to order.

Lovely staff, lovely old hotel from first impression but desperately needs updating. Beds are very uncomfortable, mattresses need changing, way too thin and old. My room had what looks like a leak previously in the ceiling corner with mould growing on it. A good few plug sockets with tape over them with do not use written on them. For safety I think an electrician should be called out for these. Shower screen had no rubber on the bottom so after having a shower the floor was awash with water, floor needs replacing in the bathroom as well, very uneaven and unstable.

Beautiful 400 yr old property … from the outside ! Unfortunately wasn’t as nice inside , very dated with lots of maintenance repairs to be addressed , bed was lumpy , pillows were lumpy , we had a feature room but it was definitely a 2 star stay for a 4/5 star price ! Won’t stay again but the receptionist was very nice

Very helpful and pleasant staff. The area was quiet and easily walkable into Mallon. My only minor gripe was an uncomfortable bed. That aside we had a really nice stay although only 1 night.

It’s a very old building so expect some ‘quirks’. That said, everything worked, the bathroom/shower was great and it’s very quiet so I had an amazingly lovely sleep.
