Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya - Adults Only - All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"Love Secrets Akumal, have been three years in a row and the resort is incredible - from the rooms, to the employees, to the beach and water. Restaurant options are numerous and food is comparable to other high-end resorts. The people there are wonderful, and the option of having the quiet pool is what helped sell us the first time we picked Akumal and one of the things that keep us coming back."
"The property was well maintained liked the room. The food was good, but was very difficult to get à la carte reservations without complaining. It was very disappointing that pools closed at six.
The beaches had a lot of Sargasm and look like an endless job to clean up. They had renovations going on."
"Absolutely love staying here! this is our second time at this resort. We absolutely love it. Wonderful entertainment. You could not be bored. Very comfortable rooms and large. The food is really good compared to some of the other resorts we’ve been to. Amazing beach area and you’re always able to get a beach chair no matter when you go down there. Great pools! I know that this property has been bought out by the Hyatt or the Hilton and I’m hoping that it stays affordable like Bahia Principe was. We would definitely stay here again!"
"We stayed on the main floor and it feels like it’s our own house on the beach. Luckily no one was around so it feels very nice and private.
The 3 bedrooms with their own bathrooms were wonderful for layout and the common rooms of kitchen/living room and dining room were great for all of us to spend time together. The beach view was wonderful but the sargassum just ruined the experience as we couldn’t use the beach at all as there was so much weeds on shore and in water despite the staff hauling and spraying for the bad smell that gets more noticeable toward the end of the day.
The other things that need improvements are: softer mattresses as they are way too hard, same with the hard cushions in the living room. Better maps as we couldn’t understand in middle of night why we were in another building two buildings away from the main one. It took us over half an hour to figure it out.
Otherwise the knives are all dull but kitchen was well equipped for us to make family meals together.
The staff is wonderful and responsive to our needs. They clean the condo every two days. Very attentive.
The location feels safe and private. It is however at least 1km from the Tsuuk Nature Park. And there are no free beaches except in front of the condo. We luckily had a vehicle so we were able to visit nearby cenotes, Yal ku lagoon, Xel-Ha etc… lots of things to do besides the beach…"
Bahia Principe Escape Tequila - Adults Only All Inclusive - Brand New Hotel
6/10 Okay
"This is my second time to the property having stayed at one of the other properties on the resort last time.
What you need to know is Tequila is associated with Coba resort and you have access to things within those two resorts ONLY, but you cannot go off those two resorts to use other amenities on the other resorts. Buffet at Tequila is very limited. Staff is super helpful, very friendly and some of the systems that are in place with Hyatt having taken over by here just doesn’t have the same feel as it did when I was there two years ago."
"Our overall vacation was excellent. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. All was clean and the facilities are great. The only thing we found a little less than our expectations was that some evening entertainment had additional charges and the buffet was largely the same each day, although the food was really good. Despite the sargassum problem the beach was well kept. We are likely to return. "
