"Fantastic first stay at this hotel. Told the woman at check-in that it is our honeymoon and she upgraded us to a river-facing suite at no extra charge! Its an excellent building and the room had a walk-out balcony with chairs. Despite facing a busy rivrerwalk, the room was quiet. The room was clean snd well appointed, well maintained. Price was very reasonable. Staff is excellent snd friendly. There is a nice pool in the courtyard, they have a convenient coffee/espresso bar near reception, snd the Four Brothers restaurant is also in the building. I plan to come here again if I ever decide to overnight on the riverwalk again, and would send to this hotel anyone who wants a S.A. hotel recommendation!"

"The property is lovely, and we enjoyed our time there. The food was a highlight. Breakfast was excellent, the buffalo at Antlers was perfect, and the barbecue we had at the bar was easily top ten. The service didn’t match the food. Our breakfast waitress seemed overwhelmed, and the language barrier made it difficult to communicate. The service at Antlers and the bar was also inattentive and disorganized. We did notice another waiter at Antlers who was friendly and engaging with everyone; we wished he had been ours. The extra charges were frustrating. Paying $25 to self-park or $50 for valet felt excessive on top of an already expensive stay. We had a great time overall, but better service and fewer added fees would make this place a perfect ten. We probably could have taken a trip to Mexico for less."

"Do not pay for breakfast through Expedia.the hotel knows nothing about it and now I have to apply for a refund. Hotel is very dated. It must have been a very plush place at one time. It is still nice and the staff were very pleasant. Most of the electrical plugs are on the lamps the bed is Heavenly."
