"Good hotel in a lovely location up a hill through olive groves. Great terrace outside the bar with a view of the hills. Good restaurant with a decent choice of meals and wines. The only downside is that while the staff were able to supply a password for the bar wi-fi, they didn't seem to know the password for the wi-fi networks covering the accommodation buildings (and my Spanish wasn't good enough to enquire further)."

"Pretty good value overall. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel had nice walkable streets nearby. Great little town. Breakfast could use significant improvement. Really very limited selection by Spanish hotel breakfast standards — didn’t taste fresh. Zero hot foods (e.g. eggs) and only two fresh fruits. Coffee machine looked modern but made bad coffee that seemed mixed with hot chocolate. "

"Hotel Xauen is a gem in the center of Jaén. Come and check this hotel out. From the hotel you see spectacular views of the city of Jaen. "This is a very old fashioned hotel. Bit like staying in a museum. Booked this hotel as the reviews were good, not sure they are correct! One says its like home from home, not sure what sort of home they live in! Also its states offsite parking, reservations required. The only parking was a very rough car park. We were on a motorbike & secure parking is a must. Cant comment on the breakfast as we had to leave early. "
