"If arriving by train in Alingsas, the Grand Hotel’s location can’t be beaten. Our room was very quiet except for the sound of the squeaky elevator passing the third floor. The housekeeping staff keep the hotel spotless. Other pluses include a comfy bed and a kettle in the room. I love staying in older hotels with charm and character. The Grand Hotel has this in spades. "Initially we thought the location was a little out of the centre but it was so well connected by tram, bus, and even the walk to central Gothenburg was only 20 mins or so. The hotel staff are helpful and the facilities are great. The breakfast was very generous especially as it’s included in the rate. "

"Lovely hotel and conference centre on outskirts of Gothenburg. You do have to get a tram and there’s a short walk to get there. Huge sports centre as part of it and park/ sports fields around it. Nice to get out of the city ( a lot of building work in Gothenburg at the time of the visit). Public transport is efficient and frequent so no problem getting to and from the hotel. Rooms basic and beds very comfortable. Everything clean. Staff on reception very friendly and helpful. "

"Amazing hotel, yeah its old but it's clean and it includes a decent and healthy breakfast. Coffee is trash but who cares, service is polite and friendly, room is spacious and bathroom is ok. If you're not very pretentious this is what you need wjen visiting Goteborg, it's very conveniently located. It even has a sauna and a gym, though the gym is a bit outdated and trashy lol. You can even have tasty thai dinner at the hotel's restaurant, it's excellent and cheap."
