The room was a typical neat and modestly sized European room. The staff were above average friendly and helpful. The shops are restaurants are all very close by, as is the train station. As long as you can handle stairs, this place is a great find especially for the price.

Helpful receptionist that wanted to make sure we had a nice stay! The room was cleaned often and properly and nice with change of towels and all that. Could have more hangars or places to unpack clothes but all in all it was a good location for a good value

The things which are good: 1. Great proximity to train station and the heart of touristy Amsterdam; 2. Price was good. 3. Room was pretty clean; 4. 24-hour front of house and security at the front desk. The things which were less good: 1. The stairs are steep but most hotels have steep stairs; 2. The front desk staff are not all the most pleasant or helpful folks; 3. The common areas are dingy; 3. The shower in my room backed up and flooded while I was in there and caused a huge flood. Staff were not so helpful; 4. Some of the clientele seemed a bit sketchy. Just be aware...

Excellent location and lovely staff, right in the heart of things. However, unsuitable for anyone with any mobility issues, or having to get luggage up narrow / steep flights of stairs. Rooms are clean, but very basic and small. No dining or bar facilities on the premises, although a 10% discount is offered at a nearby restaurant.
