Not thrilled with this property. First of all, we checked into the Highlander House (I guess that's the address my directions took us to?) and we were told to walk up the street and around the block to our hotel. We arrived there and the steps up to the hotel were littered with half eaten food someone had left on the stoop. The area has heavy foot traffic and bars and I guess disrespectful tourists. It's a shame. But anyway, there was no hotel sraff there to clean it off, giving the place more of a hostel feel. But I'm an adult and not interested in staying at hostels. Or walking over half way packages of salmon and other waste on my way to my hotel room. Took and very skinny, steep circular staircase half a floor down with 3 heavy bags to our room which had a cool look but the bathroom STUNK of MOLD. Like, really moldy and gross. We kept the bathroom door shut the whole time to keep the smell out of the room and had to just deal when we were in the bathroom. The bed, pillows and blanket were comfy and warm.

Very convenient location.

Very convenient location to tour Amsterdam, close to restaurants and Central Station for transfer to/from Schiphol Airport. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Cleaners just needed a little wake up call.

We stayed in the Garage room. The room was a very nice size considering that rooms in Europe are generally smaller than those we are used to in North America. All of the amenities we needed were provided, the mini bar was well stocked, and the turn down service was lovely.

Would not recommend for a business trip

No staff past 11pm means guests run around as they feel all night slamming doors and making noise. If you’re looking for a hotel which is not a high end hostel. If your on business try the M Gallery close by where you’ll get a good sleep.

A little gem with everything in walking distance..

Excellent location with all the attractions within walking distance. Get your day started at the coffeeshop across the road from the hotel. Great place to unwind at the end of the day too. Rooms are clean, modern and have a chic vibe. A little on the small side, we stayed in 'The Den' but I think balanced with affordability. There is some construction on the approach street but you'll be fine. Great shopping is a few steps away along with most eateries within 10-15mins walking distance. Check in / out was smooth no complaints really.
