"Kenji was a very nice host and his "guest house English" speaking was wonderful!! It is a perfect location if you are looking to wake up early and walk to the bamboo forest, you can be one of the first people there. Kenji also gave us recommendations of places to visit in the area that you otherwise may not have known about. "
"Excellent experience in a traditional onsen setting. They have both private and public baths to enjoy. Very beautiful hotel with amazing traditional breakfast. Arashiyama area is beautiful with many sights to take in, all within walking distance. Staff were very helpful with all our questions!"
"A great ryokan with very friendly staff. The Japanese breakfast was the best we had in Japan! Our room was nice, clean, and had an amazing view. Great location! "
"Nice and comfortable, but not convenience for taking train, taking bus is fine.
A little bit disappointed that there is no smoking room even I have booked smoking room.😅"
"This property is very cheap for the size and quality of the room. There was some questionable stains on the couch but besides that everything else was rather clean for the nature of the hotel"
"This place was awesome, excellent service, you feel the tradition in the place.
Breakfast was delicious, the tea ceremony was amazing.
The Onsen and the room were cozy and we left rested and renovated"
"The landlord is very nice and helpful. The property is very clean and decorative. This is the most comfortable place during our vacation in Japan. Strongly recommend this wonderful house. "
"It was very special experience to stay at Japanese traditonal house with my family. It was a little bit far from the main sightseeing site but we were ok because we had a car. Kinkakuji was especially awesome."

"Definitely my favourite hotel in my stay at Japan. Very convenient 7/11 nearby. Relatively easy check in. Fairly spacious room with pretty decent amenities. Very close to station. Everything was comfortable. Great Internet access."
"So close to Kyoto station and very nice lounge and public bath. Right next to plenty of options in Kyoto station. Well worth it just for not having to walk far in the heat."
"If you want to experience traditional ryokan with fabulous meals, this is the place for you. It is a bit dated like visiting your relative’s house in the small town. It’s surrounded by maple forest, like living in a nice cabin. This is not modern hotel, if you set your expectation right, you will not be disappointed. All the stuffs are so kind and warm. They are great people dedicated to their jobs and it makes me want to visit Kyoto again."
"This hotel was the nicest hotel I stayed in during my trip in Japan.
The location was great as it was a very short walk to the park, Kyoto aquarium and train museum. It was also right beside the station which is just one stop away from Kyoto station. There is also a combini within the hotel so I never needed to leave the hotel to get something from a combini.
The rooms were great as the room and bathroom were more spacious and very clean. The public bath was also very nice and not very crowded during my stay.
The staff were very helpful and welcoming which was nice. I ordered a luggage transfer from this hotel and the staff handled my luggage and paperwork for me which was great.
I did not try any dining options so I have no comments on that.
The hotel provided everything I would want and need in a hotel. Great rooms, price, amenities, location and service.
I have no complaints with my stay here and would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area."
