"I was impressed by the hotel as soon as I walked through the door…lovely smell, great looking open light airy reception but most notably a really solid and warm welcome. This continued throughout the 2night stay - commendable customer service never failing to be personable, adaptable and professional. Very kind staff who really stepped up to help me as I was getting ready for my wedding! Couldn’t have asked for more. Great room, stunning view of the cathedral (room 416), safe access with key card lift operation, lovely breakfast and bar offerings. Genuinely cannot wait to stay here again. In comparison to the other options in Canterbury, this is 10/10, would now be my top choice of stay and is worth the potential slightly higher price, but you get value for money and with staff who go the extra mile. Shout out to Ness and the staff on from 19-21st May…thank you all for making me feel calm but also celebrated!"

"The buffet was extremely disappointing. Overcooked fish. No vegan alternative. Had to wait ages for someone to check each time which food was dairy free (for an allergy) as nothing had labels on it. The room was clean but the bathroom floor had permanent stains on it and the sink was also chipped or just very old. Didn't have time to use the pool but could smell it at the end of the hall near the pool. Pay for parking daily and you have to re-register your car each day! Reception area bar area and patio area were all very pleasant to sit in. Coffee making facilities in conference area was good, nice coffee."

"Enjoyed our stay, the location was good and staff were nice. The room wasn’t bad but it did feel like it was slanted/tilted to one side as you enter and sleep on the bed. Room didn’t seem to be soundproof as we were next to the fire escape door/stairs section, so you could hear people outside going in & out."

"We stayed here as a stopover before going to Le Shuttle early the next day. Great location for a stopover, check-in was smooth and easy, rooms very clean and nicely decorated…hotel rooms had a refurb in Sep ‘25. Good pub food as well. Early checkout was also easy with a drop key box for those leaving before reception is staffed. All in all for the price point we would definitely work this stop off into our travel plans for future France trips"
